The biggest lessons come from the greatest pain.

I know you probably don’t want to hear it, but it’s true!

I remember when I got the phone call from my mom saying that my brother Derek had just passed away. I was crying in the Kamloops airport having just landed from a weekend of volleyball in Calgary, and my coach went to book me a flight on the same plane to head straight back home.

As I was sitting there lost in my grief and struggling to grasp what had just happened, my assistant coach came over and said something I’ll never forget.

“I don’t know what you believe in Kara, but I believe God only sends us what we can handle. You are stronger than you know- and you’re going to get through this.”

I didn’t believe in God but I definitely believed in some sort of higher power.. and my belief only strengthened as time went by and Derek visited me during dreams, sent me owls and rhcp songs, and protected me during my car accident.

Now every time another big hurdle came my way I felt stronger and more equipped to handle it.

It doesn’t mean I was happy to have it there or happy to lose my brother, but I was able to find strength and take purpose from it.
My pain slowly became my superpower and yours can too 💕

I know life might not be feeling the easiest for you right now, and maybe you feel like giving up.

Maybe you feel disheartened that every day is a struggle and that you’re being held back by things you wish could magically disappear.

Maybe you’re scrolling social media and daydreaming about having an “easier life” like some of the people you see on here.

But the truth is there’s no such thing as easy..

It’s all about perspective, perseverance, strength and hope.

It’s about not letting your pain define you or limit you any longer.

It’s about finding your purpose & fulfilling it.

We only get that which we can handle. Remember that!

Take your pain and turn it into your superpower. Take your pain and STILL show up in the world with courage, love, and a huge smile. Take your pain and transmute it into something good so you can radiate love.

Because that’s the real purpose. 🙏🏼💕
